Amy Matthews is a young talent on the rise. She is “drily funny and giddily quirky” (The Scotsman) possessing “the stage presence of a veteran”” (Broadway World).

In addition to her highly successful stand-up shows, Amy has appeared in the BAFTA-award-winning show Scot Squad and she has written for Have I Got News For You. It’s no surprise she won Best Newcomer at the Scottish Comedy Awards 2019.

This August, Amy is taking her show ‘I Feel Like I’m Made of Spiders’ to the Edinburgh Fringe. The show delivers waves of laughter and also dives into the themes of change and dissociation.

Amy’s shows are both funny and touching. She has a unique ability to connect with audiences through laughter, charm, vulnerability and authenticity. Given her writing talents, it’s harder to find a better articulation of the show’s magic than the one she gave in Chortle: “There is a delicious irony in writing a show about disconnection which has meant that so many strangers have connected with it in a meaningful way.”
